New Collection

We are delighted to announce that we will be launching some of our new collection at the Country Living Spring Fair this April at Alexandra Palace in London. Do come and see us – we would love to show you our new designs and tweeds. We had a truly inspiring trip to the Outer Hebrides recently where we found beautiful Harris Tweed woollen cloth hand made by producers who are just as passionate about their work, design and colours as we are.

February 2018

We are now well into the New Year, how time is flying! After a hectic season of shows to round off 2017 we look at the year ahead, which is full of exciting prospects. It seems hard to imagine the warm, sunny, south of France type weather we experience when harvesting the lavender during this chilly, wet start to February. However, we are cracking on, brainstorming new products and lining up the shows for the year. As I write this, the lavender is overwintering well despite the snow and incredible amount of rain that we have had, yes it was rushing down the drive to the farm in a torrent. Exciting times in the fields and polytunnels as we are planning new trials…
So keep an eye out for a year ahead, it promises to be a good one!

Meet Abbey!! Our latest recruitment to the Chilcott team! Follow her on instagram @abbeythechilcottpuppy to see her adventures with us!! She travelled down from Bolton this week and is happily settling into her home on the farm. She is especially enjoying playing with Tory, her new chum who will show her the ropes and what it takes to become part of the lavender inspection team!! What a summer we have to look forward to with this little one!!

Commercial and lifestyle photos of the Chilcott luxury woolens products at the farmhouse in in the Usk Valley, South Wales

With Chelsea Flower show this week, our thoughts turn to the lavender field. We are very busy preparing the fields for the hectic two week harvest around the end of July.

After a very dry spring, the lavender has loved the recent rain, and then the brilliant sunshine that we have just had has really given the plants a chance to flourish. It really has felt like being in the south of France on the farm this week! It was not just the lavender who benefitted from the recent rain and sunshine – unfortunately this gave the weeds even more encouragement to grow (as if they needed any more!!), therefore we have been busy weeding, keeping them under control!

Charlotte, our wonderful head gardener and Vince her assistant, have treated the plants with liquid seaweed fertiliser and they have really started to look fabulous with lots of new growth, ready to burst into flower in June. We are very excited about the harvest – it is set to be a good one!!!

Now the work does not just happen in the lavender field – we have been very busy too in the polytunnels. Last year’s lavender and rosemary cuttings are ready to be potted up and will in turn create space for this year’s cuttings. It is such a joy to watch what were little cuttings blossom into rather large lavender plants!!

Let the count down to harvest begin!

    12 November 2016

So Christmas is coming and at Chilcott we are taking our beautiful products out and about to the shows. We have been to the Best of Britannia shows in London and Bristol and this week we are in London at the Country Living Christmas Fair 9th – 13th November , followed by the Winter Fair at the Royal Welsh Showground on 28th and 29th November and again at the Country Living Christmas Fair in Harrogate from the 1st – 4th December. Do come and see us and see our products for yourselves.

    28 September 2016

Sarah has been busy designing two new ranges – the luxurious Royal Blanket to celebrate the 90th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II , heavier in weight and 100% British.  She has used a herringbone pattern incorporating red, white and blue in a limited edition of just 90 blankets – perfect for a very special Christmas gift and a range of dog accessories – dog beds, coats and coming soon a range of pet shampoos and conditioners all made with the same attention to detail that is associated with the Chilcott name.

    12 October 2016

It has been a very exciting year for Chilcott – a very wet spring was hard for the lavender in the fields which was slow to get going however, our patience was rewarded and despite losing some plants we had a lovely crop. Part of the crop we bunched and dried in our new lavender barn which was great to see in action and the rest of the flower heads we left a little longer for the flowers to open fully and then harvested for steam distillation to extract the oil.
