About us
The Chilcott Story
Chilcott is a business based in Wales where we run a farm that blends into the beautiful countryside. Where mountain meets field, we work to develop Chilcott's natural fragrances. From rows of lavender to a garden full of nature's bounty, we work in harmony with all that the environment provides.
Chilcott was founded by Amelia Fawcett. Her vision in 2011 was to create a sustainable business on her farm high up in the Brecon Beacons. With more than 30 years in business, Amelia knew that the best companies were led by strong, diverse teams. She quickly assembled a group of talented individuals with distinct expertise: Charlotte Gamman, Sarah Frost and Susie Suter, who helped launch Chilcott.
In 2012, Chilcott was born and in 2013 came alive with our first rows of lavender. Maybe not the first plant that springs to mind on a rugged Welsh hillside but, tucked away at the end of a gorgeous valley, it has flourished.

Chilcott’s Creative Journey
We use wool because it is a beautiful, natural and sustainable product made in the UK. With Sarah’s knowledge gained from a family rooted in the wool business combined with her creativity and skills, we explored how best to utilise British wool with its traditions of spinning, dyeing and weaving. This adventure has taken us from Welsh weavers to the Outer Hebrides in the far north west of Scotland where we have discovered the beauty of Harris Tweed®.
To create Chilcott’s wonderful products, we have found the very best of British artisans whose high quality workmanship helps bring our designs to life. This search has taken us around the UK and we are very proud to support these talented craftspeople.
Sustainability is at the heart of Chilcott, from the way we grow our botanicals to the fabrics we use. Chilcott is a truly British business. We believe we should tread lightly in the world and appreciate what we have around us. We hope that this is reflected in the beautiful products we have brought to you.
A Story of Field, Fabric & Fragrance
Each of our Chilcott–Harris Tweed lavender bags tells a story, one that begins in the field and ends as a refined, fragrant piece designed to be kept close.
The story starts with lavender growing in the field, shaped by the seasons and carefully tended throughout the year. Once harvested and dried at its peak, the loose lavender is set aside, ready to be used just as nature intended, pure, aromatic, and unhurried.
At the same time, the cloth that will hold this lavender is being created. Becca weaves a unique Harris Tweed design, bringing a 100-year-old pattern back to life through skill, patience, and tradition. The fabric is both beautiful and enduring, carrying the unmistakable character of the loom and the hands that guide it.
The finished tweed is taken to the Chilcott studio, where it is carefully cut and prepared. Each piece is considered; nothing is rushed, nothing wasted. From there, skilled hands sew each bag slowly and deliberately, allowing the material to speak for itself.
Once sewn, every bag is filled by hand with loose lavender, capturing the scent of the field within the woven cloth. What emerges is a piece that feels purposeful yet understated, a meeting of fragrance, fabric, and form.
