Here in the Chilcott studio, we have been thinking about ways in which we can contribute to the national effort to support our key workers. We have decided to put less emphasis on normal production. We have used our resources to support the local NHS staff and carers. We have created a headband to protect the ears from the elastic of PPE, and scrubs bag for washing uniforms. In order to produce them, we have made use of our own fabric and buttons as well as those donated by the local community in the Usk valley. We feel it is the least we can do to aid the nationwide effort to support our key workers.
We have designed the buttoned headbands in response to nurses complaining of pain behind the ear caused by masks. The mask can now be looped around the buttons instead of the ears.
